Knowing if you can make a good writer is the first step in making money through writing. Many people assume they have the ability to write until the opportunity shows up and they find themselves struggling to meet up with the demands of the job. On the other hand, there are people going about broke, who have this wonderful skill in them but are either not aware or are neglecting it.
 
Writing can be a very big source of income for anyone who has the skills. All they need to do is to discover it, sharpen it and put it to use. I am sure you have read my post titled “How To Make Money Through Writing” In this post, I am sharing on how to know if you can make a good writer; because it starts from here.
 
It can be so frustrating, assuming that because you see other people writing, you too can write, then you end up struggling with materials and never being able to impress anyone of finish any job talk less of meeting deadlines.
These are the indicators to look for if you want to be sure you can make a good writer.
 

1.    You Are Rich In Words

The first indicator is that people who make good writers are usually very rich in words. When they write, they struggle with being brief. When they write briefly, it is never because they exhausted their words and ideas but that they just needed to hold back some. Apart from that, they have a rich reserve of words from which they write.
 
Do you always stammer when you speak, because you don’t know what to say? Even if you have the ideas and the challenge is to use words to convey them, writing is likely not your thing. Good writers are never short of words. If you want to know if you are hardly short of words, try writing about the same topic in many different ways using different words.
 

2.    You Communicate Easily

Having words always, is great but knowing how to communicate well, using them, is a plus. To write is to put together knowledge through words on paper (soft or hard) in a way that communicates so clearly and easily to your target audience, what you have in mind.
 
Writing is all about communicating. You cannot be a good writer if you find it hard to communicate clearly. Writers know how to use words and formulate sentences in a way that so easily communicates the idea in their mind. They have the communication skills. To know if you communicate well is to find out if your target audience understands you so well.
 

3.    You Get Inspired More On Paper

Very often when I have to address people and I feel I don’t know what to say, I just sit down and start writing. Suddenly, the facts start flowing and I soon realize that I am struggling to be brief with my points. This experience is a strong indicator that you will make a good writer.
 
Good writers are architects on paper. They compose stuffs that they themselves get marveled at. It happens like magic and they can’t explain where the inspiration often comes whenever they sit down to write. If you get so inspired when you write, you will easily make a good writer.
 

4.    You Inspire People Alot

One who will easily make a good writer is one who knows how to thrill his/her audience with what he/she writes. When people always want to read anything you write even to the end, it tells that you did not only choose an interesting topic but also wrote in an engaging manner.
 
Sometimes when I write my own stuff, I come back to them and read them over and over again. Then I wonder if I was the one who really put together such words. I am thrilled by my own writings. Before someone else tells you he/she enjoys reading your works, be sure that you enjoy it too. People will not be able to resist your writings if they are always interesting, very inspiring, very practical and with a very romantic voice.
 

5.    Writing Is Fun To You

Writing for money is a very demanding experience. Because you will have to meet deadlines, you will find out that you get so stressed up in your mind, trying to coordinate your thoughts and put down your facts so as to meet up with the demands of your employer. But it is not this way for someone who derives pleasure, writing. If you are someone who feels excited when writing, then writing brings much delight to you and so it is more of fun than a job.
 
The fun you derive from writing makes you always writing even when it is not for any official purpose. When you want to relax, do you find yourself writing something? When you write, do you feel excited and relaxed or stressed out and anxious? If writing gives you pleasure, you are most likely a great writer.
 

6.    You Are Unique In Style And Voice

Your voice is about your style and tone. You pick up some people’s works and when you read them, you see the writer standing before you and speaking to you. Some others write and it is always so strong and convincing. Some others write and it gets you thinking a lot. All these are different voices and for you to be a good writer, you need to have yours. This is your originality.

7.    You Love To Read A Lot

Have you heard someone say that he loves to write but never loves to read? Such people are not good writers. Writers are people who love words. They get excited when they come across words well scripted out. So they don’t only love writing but love reading. It is difficult to detach writing from reading and even speaking. The three are very much related.

You can know if you will make a good writer if you always love reading other people’s writings and everything you can get your hands on, gets your attention. Some times when I am bored and I get online, I just go to some of my favorite sites and soon start struggling over which one to read. It feels like I should read every article. When it comes to hard paper books, I see myself reading two to three books at the same time. Check out your passion for reading. You will know if you will make a good writer.
 

8.    You Have  A World In Your Brain

Good writers are good thinkers. They are always thinking about something. Their minds are idea mines which when tapped into and harvested, give birth to wonderful stuffs. They have a whole world in their brains. It is not strange to hear them talking always to themselves or losing touch with people around them and just going to their world in their brains, to spend some time there. If your brain is always busy, you can make a good writer.
