Iyanya net worth is among the top 20 in the list of richest musicians in Nigeria. The “kukere” master as he is fondly called is one artist that spiced up the Nigerian music scene and took entertainment to a whole new level. What did he do? Iyanya Biography

He was born on the 31st of October 1986 in Palm Street, a neighborhood that was the perfect definition of “street” in Calabar South, Cross River, Nigeria to a head mistress mother and a father whose jobs was to fell trees.  Christened “Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk” by his parents, he held unto the name even at the stance of fame.

He kick started his music career early in church, leading the children choir at age 5. His early life from cradle to adolescent was spent in Calabar having primary, secondary and tertiary education in same city. He graduated from the University Of Calabar with a B.A in Business Administration.

His Onset In The Music World

For most people, the University is a mere training ground and Iyanya was among those in that school of thought. He demonstrated this by ditching the Business Admin degree for a career in music. He sang karaoke in local bars, honed and gleaned musical skills in bars and night clubs till he had a date with destiny. Iyanya was known back then as “lofty” the rapper.

The Project Fame That Brought Fame

In 2008, he took the counsel of a friend (KCEE) to contest for the maiden edition of PROJECT FAME a music talent hunt initiative of MTN Nigeria where he emerged as the winner. This achievement turned the entertainment spotlight on him and he rose to stardom on that stage set by MTN.

His Albums

All thanks to MTN Nigeria for the platform. After the exploit and certainly inspired by the feat, he went into the studio and “MY STORY” his debut album was birthed in 2009. Four years later, another offspring of his studio works came to live “MY DESIRE” a second album to his credit under “Made Men Music” a record label he co-founded with Ubi Franklin in 2011. This album was spectacular; it had the “Kukere” track produced by D’tunes which sent the nation giddy and wild with ecstasy and its successive track “Ur Waist” featuring Emma Nyra. The “Applaudise” album came in 2015 being his last till date.

Subsequently, he left the made men music group for Mavins Record owned by Don jazzy in 2016.  In total, he has three albums, twenty two singles (including ten as featured artist), five promotional singles and fourteen music videos.

International performances

In November 2015, Iyanya performed at the AY LIVE LONDON INVASION SHOW held at the INDIGO ARENA. As the norm in the industry dictates, he went on a mini tour across the US and Canada with a label mate “Emma Nyra” in 2013. He later performed at the New York fashion week, Chicago shrine and at the African Muzik Magazine launch in Dallas, Texas.

He became an ambassador for solo phones Nigeria, a mobile phone company in Lagos, Nigeria on the 16th October 2013 in a one year deal reportedly worth $220,000 (35million naira), the deal was accompanied with a Toyota prado 2014 model. Same year he also signed a one year deal with Zinox Computers, (Nigerian’s premier indigenous branded computers) worth $300,000 (N165million)  and still raking in millions he yet signed another deal with the telecommunications giants (MTN) worth N60million.

Iyanya net worth is $3.5million that’s about N1.2billion.
