He is a Nigerian songwriter, performer, producer and dancer who’s well reputed for his unique danc skills and being able to combine it simultaneously with his good lyrical. Biography

Born Augustine Miles Kelechi Edgar on 17 December 1992 in Bauchi State, Nigeria. He hails from Ebonyi State, eastern Nigeria. Being fathered by a soldier, the family relocated several times around the north due to the inbound transfers of the head of the family’s job. He learnt how to play the acoustic guitar and other instruments at the tender age of 8 in a music school owing to his love for the music kind of arts.

Music Career

K-money entertainment was the record label he was signed unto as he took his first steps into Nigerian music industry. Under the label, he released his first single titled “Holiday”. Prior to this, on the same event where he was spotted by Julius Agwu, he also met Iyanya and his manager Ubi Franklin and was advised by the duo to relocate to Lagos where lots of opportunities lay wait for him.

This was coming after he remixed Ice Prince’s “Oleku” and gave it a new title “onye ne kwu”. He took their advice and found himself in Lagos and on 5, October 2013. He was signed into the record label “Made Men Music” group where he released the singles “Dance” and “Anything”.

Tekno’s Major Breakthrough

He got his major breakthrough in June 18, 2015 when he released the hit song “Duro”. The reception was massive and it was on top radios playlists for quite a while across the country. It was highly rated among top songs in the country and internationally.

He went ahead to remix the track, featuring top artists and co-easterners like “Flavour” and the phenomenal rapper “Phyno” on the 15th of November same year. He wasn’t going to wane on his drive to success and so he released yet another mega hit single on the 20th barely few weeks after the “Duro” remix. The song was produced by Coublon a DJ with exceptional beats who has no album to his credit but has released about 17 fantastic singles and have been featured severally in other albums and singles.

He was nominated for the Next rated award at the 2016 Headies. This didn’t go down well with him as he lambasted the organizers of the awards and accused them of unfairness. This raised an air of uncertainty about the Headies awards and its credibility.

“Alhaji Tekno” as he calls himself, is among the MTN ambassadors and has a signed deal of about N18million. He also signed a deal with Sony Music in 2016 at $1.7million (N2billion) .  The multi talented music star is worth over N3billion.
