Why is Shoprite Chicken so Expensive?

This is a little kinda hilarious, but just this evening, my friend beep me Online and asked the question, normally when i go and exchange my Dollars every Month, I always Buy Bread (That is my favourite though) at Shoprite, and Chicken as the case demands, so he was surprise at the price that was listed for him.

I know their Chicken are quiet expensive, but to me, the chicken is not made in China, so the Chicken is not the reason why it is sold at that rate?

Why is Shoprite Chicken so Expensive?

I believe ” Shoprite Brand” is what is been sold to us, the nice shopping mall, the Air conditioned atmosphere, excellent packaging for the food items you are buying and all of that, is what propel that High price, I often times, wonder why KFC also locates their own chicken shop at everywhere there is Shoprite, could they be in partnership somehow?

Seems, my Question is now two, would appreciate responses from you guys!

I’m more interested in chicken you posted than to your question 😀 I think you have answered the question, they sell you the rush environment and the charge you for the conform you enjoyed shopping with them.

Another thing I noticed is that they price popular items low and moved other (not to popular) items very high. Everything in Nigeria must prove dubious

I agree with that. Many of their products are cheaper than the ones we see around. I haven’t bought a chicken from Shoprite before. To carry out this experiment, Matex could just throw me some dollars and then i can come and answer his question after an experience
