Peru is a country in South America that’s home to a section of Amazon rain forest and Machu Picchu, an ancient Incan city high in the Andes mountains. Its capital which is Lima, located on its arid Pacific coast, has a preserved colonial center and important collections of pre-Columbian art.
Peru is an extremely bio-diverse country, and its main economic activities include mining, manufacturing, agriculture and fishing. The multi-ethnic Peru has an estimated population of 31.2 million (in 2015), including Amerindians, Europeans, Africans and Asians.
Sol is the currency in use, and the main spoken language is Spanish, although a significant number of Peruvians speak Quechua or other native languages. This mixture of cultural traditions has resulted in a wide diversity of expressions in fields such as art, cuisine, literature, and music.
How To Apply For Peru Student Visa From Nigeria
Students planning to study at a Peruvian educational institution or wanting to do an internship / apprenticeship at a Peruvian company, you have to apply for a student visa. Please note that the Peruvian educational institution or training facility has to be recognised by the Peruvian Ministry of Education or the National Assembly of University Rectors.
While Peruvian Consulates in the US still issue student visa for three-month stays (which can be extended once you entered Peru), Peruvian Diplomatic Missions in other countries don’t issue Student Visa anymore. Students or interns have to enter Peru on a tourist visa and then change their immigration status at Peru’s immigration office.
