I am into buying and selling of plantains. I sell at idi oro market i need organizations in which i can supply.

    Marketing is one of the important things to consider when venturing into Plantain business. Different crop have different market chain and you should be well versed with in it. The way you will sell plantain is different from cassava or watermelon.

    There are two ways of marketing or selling your plantains, they are

    1. Through the local markets.
    I suppose you already covered some areas at idi Iroko where you are. This method is not really profitable and also, its not really bad,

    2. Selling to companies processing flour and chips

    The truth is that the processing companies have the capacity to process but the quality of the quantities of what they need is the challenge.
    Most plantain farmers are not producing the quality these companies need and the farmers are forced to sell at the local market where they are taken advantage of.

    Selling to the processing companies requires that you know what they need before producing it. They are producing in large quantities, qualities and have a name to protect. Therefore, their standard is high and strict.

    Another alternative is to target restaurants, canteens and some local food places and sell for them. They buy very well also. You just have to convince them to be your customer.
